Recent research has shown that the poor in India are becoming poorer, while the rich are getting significantly wealthier, and the primary reason behind this is attributed to the Indian government. The study highlights how the country’s condition is deteriorating, sparking numerous claims about the situation. The pressing question remains whether the government will ever address this issue.
The research also indicates that this is the first time in India’s history that such a trend has been observed. The wealthiest individuals in India have more than doubled their fortunes, while the poor are facing even greater challenges, including hunger. People with low-paying jobs or those without jobs at all are the most affected. The study reveals that individuals who had a net worth of ₹1 lakh a few years ago have seen their wealth reduced by half.

Recent reports indicate that India ranks 105th out of 127 countries in the global hunger index.
